TIP: Before continuing to this article, make sure to check your router, modem and connection if it is PLDT Home Ultera.
Recently, technicians from Smart came to our home to change our antenna and router because, they said, they need to upgrade these things for all consumers for free. Of course I agreed because it's FREE! Now, they changed our Smart Broadband connection to PLDT Home Ultera, which is LTE connection. This is how you change the wifi name and password.
1. GET THE DEFAULT GATEWAY IP ADDRESS
For SmartBro, the default IP address is 192.168.1.1 but PLDT Home Ultera has different IP address depending on the router provided. To check, go to CMD. For windows, you can easily press and hold the Windows button on your keyboard (usually near the space bar) and press letter R. That would be Windows+R, which will open the RUN window. Type cmd on the input box and press Enter which will open the CMD. Type ipconfig in cmd.
2. IN THE BROWSER, GO TO THE IP ADDRESS FROM DEFAULT GATEWAY
3. LOGIN
The default Username is homebro and password is homebro. If this doesn't work, call your local Smart or PLDT customer service to ask what settings did their technician put.
4. CHANGE WIFI NAME
To change the WIFI name, click Wireless from the menu then Basic Settings. Change the value in SSID then click Modify button.
5. CHANGE WIFI PASSWORD
To change WIFI password, click Wireless from the menu then Security. Change the value in Pre-shared Key then click Modify button.
You're Done! You can change other values in your settings but I advise that if you are not familiar with them, do not attempt to change them.
My wifi modem is not accepting connection to other unless you may put it the ip address number of the unit in the computer, how we can fix this for easily connect to the wifi? Thanks
ReplyDeleteHi I am not sure. I've never experienced this kind of problem. Maybe you should check on your router or internet service provider if they restricted it. Once a router/modem is installed in your home, the tech team from pldt sets up some modification in the settings of your router.

Alamin mo mga ip add ng mag coconnect then lagyan mo ng name para alam mo kung sinu nag coconnect. Kapag dmo kilala i kill mo yung pagka connect nya and viola! D na sya makakapag net. Yun nga lang may virus yung app.
DeleteTry moh idownload "wireless network watcher" ..un ata tinuyukoy moh..then download ka "wckiller" if available pa sa market para i block ung di moh gusto nag coconnect.. Another way is if meron ka avast sa computer moh madali moh madedetect if cnu nakaconnect sa wifi moh.. Compare moh lng ung mac address dun sa WNwatcher.. Ung tatlong apps na yan ang makakatulong sau to keep track of your wifi..

Hi, I honestly do not know po. Try to reset your router daw. But can you ask your internet service provider (PLDT/SMART/SUN/SKY) if pwede ichange yung router password mo? Maybe controlled nila.

Kailangan nyo po i-forgot yung connection nyo sa laptop/cp/tablet nyo tapos connect kayo ulit gamit yung bagong password nyo.kasi if palitan nyo po ung pre-shared key lahat ng mga nakaconnect (kahit yung mga kapitbahay na nakikigamit ng wifi) ay madidisconnect. tapos iconnect nyo po ulit yung mga devices gamit yung bagong password po. hope this helps.thanks!

ReplyDeletedi ako masyado sure sa lease time po pero if nakaset yan na 24 hours every 24hours nagrerefresh ung router and possible magassign ng ibang ipaddress sa router mo. ung login details di talaga pwede baguhin nirequest na namin yan sa pldt dito. try nyo daw po irequest jan sa inyo if pwede.

ReplyDeleteProbably your WiFi module was disabled. Try to connect a LAN (network cable) from your computer/laptop and connect to the IP address of your router. Check if it is disabled or not

ReplyDeleteMa'am, pano po masolve yung problem na bigla nalang nadidisconnect yung devices namin sa wifi which is ultera (not signal issue, kahit katabi yung router na didisconnect parin ng walang dahilan, and also not hardware issue ng phone, nasubukan ko na sa android phone ko and sa iPad parehas nag didisconnect, even sa laptop). Is there any way to fix this? Okay naman pag sa ibang wifi naka connect pero pag sa ultera nag didisconnect talaga, nakaka frustrate lang. Thanks is advanced :)

ReplyDeletemeron po parang "killswitch" sa router nyo para mareset yung user name and password. pinipindot po yun usually pin or perdible ung ginagamit. tapos magrereset ung user name and password. Yung maipapalit na username and password nakalagay yan dapat dun sa router as in nakasulat sa sticker tapos nakadikit sa router usually sa ilalim. Pero dapat sinasabi yan ng naginstall ng router sa inyo kung ano ung original username and pass ng router.

ReplyDeleteconnect po kayo direct gamit ung LAN cable if nakalimutan nyo po ang password. access nyo ung IP ng router after magconnect para palitan nyo ulit ung password.

ReplyDeletepatry lng restart ng router tapos gamit nalang LAN wire to connect sa router para ibalik ssid and pass. talagang magdidisconnect if palitan ssid. connect lang ulit.

ReplyDeletehi po, ask ko lng pano mg block ng certain sites like youtube using my PLDT Home Ultera router? gusto ko po kasing ma regulate ang data usage namin. eh naka phone po ang ibang users dito sa bahay. sinubukan ko po ang 192.168.22.1 na url pero wla naman po dung option na mg block ng certain sites. patulong naman po. thanks!
